Accused

Originally composed (Dominik Schulz-winds/front ensemble and Eli Case - battery/sound effects) for McCracken County High School, “Accused” is set in the mind frame of the Salem Witch Trials, The Crucible, and The Scarlet Letter. The music is energetic in a negative kind of way (reminiscent of a death march).

The opener “Falsely Accused” and closer “No Trial” are chock full of momentum. The ballad “Unattainable Love” portrays the love story between the two main characters. It is scored with two melodies that start separate and combine into one (great opportunities for staging and visuals). “No Trial” uses sections derived from Verdi's public domain opera Otello. An ensemble feature adds to the aggression as the lovers are being pulled apart leading to the final hit.
